Sithonia

Sithonia is the second peninsula of Halkidiki. Sithonia is an area where you will have the chance to admire endless magical landscapes, golden beaches, secluded beaches, covered in green valleys and forests, fish villages, but also the magnificent architectural structure of houses and churches. It is a symphony in green and blue.

The areas of Nikiti, Agios Nikolaos, Metaggitsi, Pirgadikia, Neos Marmaras, Parthenonas, Vourvourou, Ormos Panagias, Toroni, Porto Koufo, Sarti and Sikia have pine filled beaches, narrow side walks and flower filled town squares with island atmosphere.

Amongst the many worth seeing places in Sithonia is the ancient city, the castle and the church of Agiou Athanasiou in Toroni, the windmills in Sikia and the 16th century church in Nikiti. Porto Koufo is the largest and safest natural harbor in Greece, which is mentioned by Thoukididi as "hollow harbor" it appears to be the fishing spot in the area. South, from the harbors exit you will find Kartalia, the most southern part of Sithonia, a very impressive area where puts the visitors under a spell with its rocky secluded beaches.

Some well-known beaches for their natural beauty are Azapiko, Tristinika, Korakas, Marathias, Kalamitsi and Kriaritsi.
At last, Sithonia is famous for the residents’ hospitality and it is sure that once you will visit it you are going to love the area!
Soon we will post some information for buying a property in Sithonia, Halkidiki.

Ierissos

Ierissos is located on the east-side of Halkidiki, on the Athos peninsula, 105 km from Thessaloniki's Airport and 80km from Poligiros. There are frequent bus services to and from Thessaloniki and the neighboring towns of Halkidiki.
It consists one of the bigger towns in Northern Halkidiki and constitutes an important harbour for Northern Greece with lots of fishing activity. The sandy beaches and lively entertainment offered in Ierissos make it a unique place for holidays.

In Ierissos is located “The Olympus Residential Cartier”, traditional newly constructed residences in a beach front complex. Ierissos has very easy access by car, as it is located only a 100 km of scenic driving from the city and the international airport of Thessaloniki. It offers 40 split-level villas, ranging between 86 and 94 sq.m. with private gardens and large terraces with sea-views.
Olympus Residential Cartier is being erected right outside the village of Ierissos, combining everything that you or your family will ever dream of a summer holiday resort; the loveliest sandy beaches, the evergreen landscapes and the outstanding natural surroundings that will make Ierissos your dream holiday destination!
The villas are distributed over two levels and are built using top quality materials and are all dressed in the local traditional local stone. They also offer many comforts like private parking, security door and wooden pergolas.
They are just 30m away from the beach.
The village has common areas and gardens, like swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts.

About Halkidiki

Halkidiki is a Greek peninsula, located in the North Greece, near the city of Thessaloniki. It has three peninsulas, Cassandra, Sithonia and Mt. Athos.

Halkidiki is an area that combines everything, sunny, golden sandy beaches, deep and picturesque gulfs, traditional villages and modern tourist resorts, small islands and sheltered bays, pine-clad hills descending to the sea, Mediterranean climate and magnificent natural beauty.

Besides the beautiful beaches there are also a lot of archeological treasures and historical monuments.

Either you prefer to visit or stay in Sithonia, or in Cassandra the result will not fail to please you. Both peninsulas have tourist facilities and properties, built in the traditional Macedonian style, designed to enhanced and rather than detract from the environment. The third peninsula, Mt. Athos, is a monastic state, a shelter of Byzantine monasteries.

You can come to Halkidiki by plane using the airport of “Makedonia” of Thessaloniki.

Summer in Halkidiki

The summer is now over, and I really hope that you enjoyed your
vacations. This Summer for Halkidki (Chalkidiki) was a peacefull one. Many Tourists around, nice weather and more or a less, a nice summer.

Regarding me, I made a couple of visits. I went to Olympus, I stayed at Litochoro, where then I could walk up to the mountain. I spent also some days at Oraiocastro in Thessaloniki, and I understood that this area has a long property development. I spent suprisingly enough one week at Athens, where I went to Agioi Apostoloi, a sea area near to Athens.A lovely Greek summer there too. I really enjoyed walking at the street near to the sea of my house.

But later on this month, I will start posting some more particular news about the real estate bussiness in Greece.

Many wishes for a creative winter for now.

More News

After a long discussion with many local real estate agents and collecting data from different property markets in Greece, we made the following observation considering also the high prices of the oil:

If you want to buy a house in Greece then YOU NEED TO SEARCH! YOU NEED TO SEE THE PLACES!

You need to do that even if you want to work as a real estate agent. Till now looks that the individual constructors or individual sellers mainly of traditional houses, they will be able to keep the house prices around the same levels. But this is not the case for big construction companies that of course need to get the maximum payoff from their investments. But on the other hand, big construction companies offer different property products with different services than the individual sell. At the most of times when you buy a traditional house you will need to re-innovate. Therefore the price that you paid does not match exactly with the work that you will need later for developing your house.

Therefore what sort of house to buy and especially in Greece depends mostly on your needs. And as a final conclusion, fell free to ask and especially your real estate agent. The agent should your guide-your friend that does his best for you. Do not forget that.

We will post late this month too.

We are following the news!

Sorry for not posting some time now....But we read with great interest the news about the oil prices and how this affects the house prices in Greece. We have already noted many price changes in the local properties market due to the new prices in the building products. Note that the workers pay rate remains the same, therefore the new prices are mostly because of these new inflated rates in the basic building products. We follow the news and we will update you asap.

An Update

To be honest I have many things to write about. For instance, I will need to say that Greece, despite the frequent earthquakes that happen there, is a safe country. The civil engineering rules for building a house are very strong and the Greek engineers are very well educated and experienced for constructing safe buildings. An example is the recent earthquake in Greece -Peloponnisos (Peloponnese), where despite its size, the damages where limited to mostly in old agricultural style traditional houses. But I will definitely post soon, about more info about the greek constructions.
